Subscriptions on VestaCreate

How free follows and paid subscriptions work on VestaCreate, how fans pay, and how to decide what free followers see and what subscribers get.

Two levels of access

Every VestaCreate creator page has two kinds of audience.

Free followers have clicked follow at no cost. They see your public posts, can message you under whatever rules you set, and can tip or unlock pay-per-view posts. Following is instant.

Paid subscribers pay your monthly subscription price and see your subscriber-only posts as well as the public ones. You decide, post by post, which audience each one is for.

This separation is the main difference from platforms where the subscription is the only door. A free follow means a fan can stay close to you with no commitment, and your public posts can keep working on them until they are ready to pay.

How fans pay

Fans pay for a subscription in one of two ways:

  • Directly, through one of your payment links. You set the price in dollars, the fan pays through the processor you chose, and VestaCreate takes nothing.
  • With credits, if you accept them. One credit is one dollar to the fan; you cash out at 75 cents per credit after a 7-day hold.

Offering both lets fans choose. Those who already hold credits can subscribe with a tap; those who prefer not to buy credits can pay you direct.

Know what each route pays you. A $12 subscription paid direct returns $12 less your processor's fee; paid as 12 credits it returns $9. Neither is wrong. Credits buy you a frictionless sale and no processor relationship; direct payment keeps more of the money.

Deciding the split

Your public posts are advertising for the subscription. Your subscriber posts are the product. A reasonable starting rhythm:

  • Several public posts a week: teasers, personality, previews of what subscribers got
  • Subscriber-only posts at least as often, with the full content
  • Occasional pay-per-view posts above the subscription for premium items

Free followers who never see anything from you forget they followed. Followers who see everything have no reason to pay. Keep both groups fed, with the better meal behind the wall.

Keeping subscribers

Fans subscribe for what they expect and stay for what they get. The things that keep a subscription renewing:

  • Post on a schedule they can predict
  • Reply to messages, especially from subscribers
  • Mark the occasional post as a thank-you for subscribers specifically
  • Let them know what is coming, so cancelling feels like missing out

Check the current terms for exactly how renewals and price changes are handled for existing subscribers, and tell your fans plainly whenever anything about their subscription changes. Clarity keeps people more reliably than any trick.
