Promoting on Reddit
How Reddit works for adult creators: finding the right subreddits, verification, posting etiquette, and avoiding the bans that catch newcomers.

Why Reddit still matters
Reddit has a large number of adult subreddits organised by body type, interest, kink, region and style. People go there to look, which makes it one of the few places a new creator can be seen by thousands of strangers with no following at all. It also has a culture that punishes obvious marketing, so it rewards creators who learn the rules.
Check Reddit's current content policy and each subreddit's rules before posting. Both change, and a subreddit's rules are enforced by its own moderators, not by Reddit.
Set up properly
- Create a dedicated account under your stage name. Do not use a personal account.
- Fill in your profile with your photo, a line about what you make, and your share link (?ref=username).
- Mark the account as 18+ so your posts are handled correctly.
- Build a little history first. Comment in a few communities, upvote, be a person. Brand-new accounts that only post promotion are treated as spam by automatic filters and by moderators.
Many adult subreddits require creators to verify before posting. Usually this means a photo of you holding a handwritten sign with your username, the subreddit name and the date, sent to the moderators or posted as instructed. Each subreddit has its own process and some accept verification from others. Read the sidebar and the pinned posts; the instructions are always there and moderators are tired of being asked.
Verification protects you too. It makes it harder for people to post your content and claim to be you.
Posting that works
- Post where you fit. A subreddit's title and rules tell you exactly what it wants. Posting outside that gets removed.
- Titles matter more than anywhere else. Short, in your own voice, with a hint of personality. Avoid titles that read like ads.
- Do not put links in the title or caption unless the subreddit allows it. Most do not. Your profile is where the link lives, and people who like a post will click your name.
- Post the same image to a few relevant subreddits over a day, not twenty at once. Crossposting too fast is a common reason new accounts get suspended.
- Reply to comments on your posts, within reason. A reply from the creator is part of the appeal.
- Watermark everything you post. Reddit content is scraped constantly.
Avoiding bans
The fastest ways to lose an account are posting in subreddits that forbid creators, mass-posting links, running several accounts for the same person, and ignoring moderator messages. Keep one account, read the rules, and when a moderator asks you to do something, do it.
Reddit is work, but it is work that can bring in new fans every week for years.
