Bundles and sales
How to use bundles and time-limited sales on VestaVids to raise average order value and move older clips without cutting your base prices.
Bundles raise the order, sales raise the urgency
These are the two tools your VestaVids store gives you beyond individual items, and they do different jobs.
A bundle groups several items at one price. It increases how much a buyer spends per visit, without lowering the price of anything sold on its own. A sale reduces the price of chosen items for a limited time. It creates a reason to buy now, and clears older items that have stopped selling.
Use bundles constantly. Use sales occasionally.
Building bundles that sell
The arithmetic that makes a bundle work: the bundle price should be clearly less than the items added up, but more than the buyer would have spent on the one item they came for.
- A series. Parts one to four of a themed set at the price of three.
- A theme. Everything in one outfit, location or category.
- A starter pack. A few of your best-selling clips for a new buyer who does not know where to begin.
- Clip plus photo set. The video and the stills from the same shoot.
- The complete back catalogue, for the fan who wants everything. Price it high; the buyers for it exist and they are not price-sensitive.
Aim for a discount of around 20 to 35 percent against the total. Deeper than that and the bundle undercuts your single-item prices in the buyer's mind.
Name bundles descriptively. "Summer Set, 4 clips + 40 photos" tells a buyer what they get; "Mega Bundle" does not.
Running a sale
- Choose items, not the whole store. A storewide sale trains buyers to wait for the next one.
- Keep it to 48 to 72 hours. A deadline is what makes a sale work.
- Favour older items. New releases sell on novelty; they do not need help.
- Pair it with a reason: a milestone, a holiday, a new release in the same series.
- Announce it on your VestaCreate page and socials at the start and once near the end.
A sale that runs often loses its force. Roughly one a quarter, plus occasion-based ones, is about as often as a store can sell without hurting full-price demand.
Measure it
After each bundle or sale, look at three things: units sold, revenue compared with a normal week, and whether full-price sales dipped afterwards. A sale that doubles revenue for three days and halves it for the next two weeks was a loss.
Subscribers on VestaCreate are a natural audience for a bundle. They already trust you. A post pointing them to a bundle of the clips they missed before they subscribed often sells well, and it costs you nothing to make.
